The Giles County Bobcats scored early and often Friday night in Pulaski to beat the Tullahoma Wildcats 49-21 in the final preseason scrimmage for both teams. Tullahoma will host McGavock next week, while Giles County will host Lincoln County.
Wildcat senior QB Justin Brown, seeing his first game action of the preseason, threw two first-half touchdown passes. The Wildcats scored their final touchdown on a long interception return late in the second half.
Tullahoma turned the ball over multiple times, once near the goal line while threatening to score.
The Bobcats are expected to be one of the state’s top Class 4A teams this season. They are led by senior quarterback Al Cobb, who has been named a preseason all-state selection by multiple publications.
The Wildcats will now focus their attention on McGavock, next week’s season-opening opponent. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Wilkins Stadium.
