The Tullahoma Wildcat golf team got an important win in District 8-AAA, outshooting Shelbyville 167-179 at the Riverbend Country Club in Shelbyville on Thursday. The Lady ‘Cats fell to the home Eaglettes 117-101.
Both Tullahoma golf teams will play their first district match at home when they host Franklin County in a nine-hole match at Lakewood Country Club on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The Wildcats were once again without Darrick Fisher, who continued his competition at the junior PGA event in Mississippi. Fisher is scheduled to be back with his team against the Rebels Tuesday.
Bret Schmidt and Hunter Statum were more than up to the challenge on Thursday, with Schmidt shooting a 38 and Statum close behind with a 39.
Daniel Oswalt got on the scoreboard with a 44, with Wildcat teammates Carson Bishop shooting a 46 and Andy Shahan checking in with a 49.
Ellen Morataya was once again low scorer for the Lady Cats with a 51, while Brooke Thomas also scored for Tullahoma with a 67.
