Raymond Lee Benson, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Monday, February 27, 2012, at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma at the age of 70 years.
Born in Coffee County, Tennessee to the late George Curtis Benson and the late Elizabeth Hasty, he was a supervisor for Tennessee Tannery, where he was employed for almost 45 years. Mr. Benson served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was also a member of the V.F.W.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers; Lawrence and William (Bill) Benson.
Mr. Benson is survived by one daughter, Teresa Mitchell and husband Keith of Frankewing, TN; two sons, Rich Benson and wife Nichole of Madison, AL, Chris Benson of Lynchburg, TN; two brothers, Horace Benson of Estill Springs, Dale Benson of Tullahoma; two sisters, Doris Phillips and Mary Litchford both of Tullahoma; four grandchildren, Travis Mitchell, Jessica Wilbanks, Joseph Benson, and Brooke Benson; one great-grandchild, Hunter Wilbanks; two ex-wives, Jimmie Lou Benson and Alice Phillips.
Visitation for Mr. Benson will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-9:00pm with the funeral Thursday, March 1, 2012 in The Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 pm with Rev. Eddie Blazer officiating.
Burial will follow at Hurricane Cemetery in Moore County.
