5/20/13 — Dorothy Lue Edens

Mrs. Dorothy Lue Edens, age 79, of Tullahoma, Tennessee, passed away at her residence Friday morning, May 17, 2013.

A native of Mapleton, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Anna Mae Nesbitt Conley.

Ms. Edens was a retired military wife of 30 years. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, sewing, knitting, ceramics, and quilting. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Joe Allen Edens and seven siblings.

Mrs. Edens is survived by two sons Charles (Kandy) Edens of Normandy and Warren Wisniski of Eastville, Virginia, two daughters Anna Mae Foster of Tullahoma and Diana Lynn (William) Parfitt of Harlem, Georgia, two brothers Phillip and Linwood Conley, two sisters Katie Adams and Hazel Staples, eight grandchildren Jennifer, Heather, Jacob, Crystal, Issac, Bryan, Kandyce, and Michael, and eight great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, May 20, 2013 at Memorial Gardens in Winchester, Tn., with burial to follow.

5/17/13 — Marie Allison

Mrs. Marie Allison, flower 2 age 83, of Tullahoma, passed away Wednesday at Lynchburg Nursing Center.

She was a native of Williamson Co., TN and the daughter of the late Virgil and Nanny Mae Carr Crabtree. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Allison, brothers, Hollis, Robert and C.L. Crabtree, sister, Mildred Roulette and a step sister, Ann Spicer. She was a former member of County Line Church of Christ, was retired from Stal Urban and loved sewing, knitting and crafts.

She is survived by a step-daughter, Betty (Charles) Norman of Shelbyville, brother, Charles (Nora) Crabtree of Woodbury, sisters, Phyllis Glascoe of Tullahoma, Sarah (Tommy) Glascoe of Cowan, TN, several nieces and nephews, three step great grandchildren and a special friend, Kathy Hall.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be conducted Friday at 2:30PM in the Mt. Herman Cemetery.

5/19/13 — BART LEE BENSON

flowers 36BART LEE BENSON, age 43, of Winchester, Tenn. passed away at The Willows at Winchester on Thursday, May 16,
2013, following an extended illness.

Mr. Benson was valedictorian of his 1988 Franklin County High School graduating class. He was a very successful entrepreneur owning two different businesses during his brief lifetime. Everything Mr. Benson did, he did well.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Dora Elizabeth Benson and “Special Pet”, Whitney.

He is survived by his parents; Parker and Cynthia Baucom Benson of Winchester, sisters; Anita (Mike) Miller of Estill Springs, and Teresa Sims of Winchester, brother, Barry (Angela) Benson also of Winchester, nephew, Nathan (Katie) Hill of Lewisburg, Tenn., niece, Brandy (Ardie) Boyd of Manchester, Tenn., great-nephews; Benton Parker Hill and Jackson Boyd, great-niece, Shelby Hill.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2013 in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. Howard Riddle, officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00 until service time at 3:00.

It was Mr. Benson’s wishes that he be cremated.

5/17/13 — Carol Corlew Boyd

McMinnville resident and Madison County, TN native Carol Corlew Boyd, age 52, was born March 20, 1961 and died May 14, 2013 at River Park Hospital following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A Lipscomb University graduate, Certified Public Accountant with Totherow, Haile and Welch and member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ, she was the daughter of Martha Taylor of Manchester, TN and the late Jerry Nathan Corlew.

Mrs. Boyd was married September 12, 1981 to Steve Boyd of McMinnville. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by three children, Allison Boyd of Nashville, TN, Tyler Boyd and fiancee Heather Robertson both of Murfreesboro, TN and Daniel Boyd and wife Laura of Nashville, TN; step-father, Charles Taylor of Manchester, TN; two brothers, Steve Corlew and Marc Corlew; step-sister, Karen Taylor Tennant of Dyersburg, TN; step-brother, Derrick Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013 in High’s Chapel with Tony Lawrence and Steve Hillis officiating.

Burial will follow in the Old Philadelphia Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and 12:00 p.m. until time of service Friday at High’s.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mid-South Youth Camp in Henderson, TN c/o High’s.

5/18/13 — Carl Andrew Eldridge

Memorial services for Mr. Carl Andrew Eldridge, age 62 of Morrison, will be conducted Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2 PM with Brother Joe King officiating at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.

veteran Mr. Eldridge passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

Mr. Eldridge was born February 12, 1951 in McMinnville, Tennessee, to the late Mitchell Eldridge and Sarah Garrett Eldridge. He was a United States Army veteran for 30 years, having served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion. He was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, C.J. Eldridge; a step-son, Wayne Turner; and a brother, Freddie Eldridge.

Survivors include five daughters, Betty, Mary, Martha, Kathie, and Josie; one son, Andrew Eldridge; three step-daughters, Kay, Fonda, and Ginger; two step-sons, Ray Turner and Michael Turner; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Farleff, Shirley Duke, and Kathy Rogers; two brothers, Eddie Eldridge and Michael Eldridge and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Terry Dale Jacobs, age 47 of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Wilson Chapel Church (Hoodoo) with Brother Virgil Alford officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 12 noon until time of service.

Burial will follow at the Anderson Family Cemetery in the Hoodoo Community.

Mr. Davis passed away at his home after an extended illness.

flower 2Larry was born in Cannon County, the son of Paul Maurice Jacobs and Ruth Anderson Brown. In addition to his parents, Larry is survived by his son, Cody Jacobs of Murfreesboro, TN and two grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Edward and James Edward Jacobs.

Mrs. Sandra Faye Davis Medley, age 67 of  Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away, Wednesday, May 15, 2013  at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 17, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Daves-Culbertson Chapel with Pastor Phillip Barnett officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, May 17, 2013 from 11 AM until service time.

A native Tullahoma, TN., she was the daughter of the late, James Wesley and Lois Cunningham Davis.  She worked as a housekeeper at the Life Care Center and Glen Oaks Nursing Home.  She loved to quilt and cook and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She had many friends and “always saw the good in everyone”.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawton James Medley; one son, Anthony “Tony” Medley and one sister, Karen Gipson.

She is survived by one son, Ernest “Ernie” Medley of Tullahoma; three brothers, Buster Davis and his wife, Gay of Tullahoma, Gary Davis and his wife, Melody of Tullahoma and Alan Davis and his wife, Paulette of Hillsboro; four sisters, Joyce Vassar and her husband, Fred of Tullahoma, Linda Moulder and her husband, Avery of Tullahoma, Brenda Petty and her husband, Clyde Sr. of Tullahoma and Darlene Ray and her husband, David of Tullahoma; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

residence.

She was a Christian. She was an Alabama Football Fan, and loved taking care of her family. One of her hobbies was watching her two favorite T.V. shows; Charmed and Supernatural.

She is survived by her husband, Donnie Sisk, Daughters; Buffy Davis, Carrie (Michael) Johnson all of Tullahoma and Natasha (Steven) Morris of Decherd, Tenn., son, Dustin Sisk of Decherd, brothers, Ricky Arnold, Ralph (Kathy) Arnold all of Manchester, Steve (Cathy) Arnold of Murfreesboro, grandchildren; Chloe Wenger, Hanna Wenger, Keyauna Arnold, Shaelynn Arnold, mother-in-law, Gayle Sisk of Decherd.

Visitation for Mrs. Sisk will begin at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 16, at Grace Community Church in Estill Springs until service time at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Rocky Burgraff officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Estill Springs.
